2-Color Linen Brioche Stitch

linen brioche

2-Color Linen Brioche - Right side
2-Color Linen Brioche - Wrong side

Use either circular or double-pointed needles to avoid having to cut threads.

My colors: color A = beige, color B = magenta.

You will notice that this sample bunches the columns together with the linen
stitch inbetween. Personally, I find that the one-color sample is more interesting
on the WS and the two-color is more interesting one the RS.

To begin, loosely cast on (long tail over 2 needles) a multiple of 4 stitches + 3
stitches with Color A using circular or double-pointed needles.
Prep row WS color A: *yf sl1yo, k1, yf sl1yof, p1: rep from *, end with yfsl1yo,
k1, yf sl1yo. Attach color B.
Row 1 RS color B: brk1, yf sl1yo, brk1, *sl1 wyif, brk1, yf sl1yo, brk1; rep from *.
Do not turn, slide to other end where color A is hanging.
Row 1 RS color A: yf sl1yo, brp1, yf sl1yo, *k1, yf sl1yof, brp1, yf sl1yo: rep
from *.
Row 2 WS color B: *brp1, yf sl1yof, brp1, sl1 wyif; rep from *, end with brp1,
yf sl1yof, brp1. Do not turn, slide to other end where color A is hanging.
Row 2 WS color A: *yf sl1yo, brk1, yf sl1yof, p1; rep from *, end with , yf sl1yo,
brk1, yf sl1yo.
Rep Rows 1-2 RS and WS.
