Because one row in brioche stitch
consists of working a RS and WS row
the stair-step created when working a
short row is lessened. |
My sample shows short rows that
increased 4 sts with each row. If you
want the curve to be sharper then add
only 2 sts per short row. If you want a
ruffle, work the short row over 2 sts,
then 4 sts, then 6 sts, then 4 sts, then
2, 4, 6, etc. |
Right edge short row
These short rows will increase the right
edge of the work on the RS.
WS and return Row 1: work in patt
ending with a yf sl1yo, leave yarn in
front, turn work, yarn is now hanging
in back, slip st and its yo pwise,
yf sl1yo, brk1... cont in patt to end.
WS and return Row 2, adding 4 sts
to short row: work in patt to last st
of prev short row - it already has a yo
but yf sl1yo again so that it has 2 yo’s,
(brk1, yf sl1yo) twice, keep yarn in
front, turn work, yarn is now hanging
in back, slip st and its yo pwise,
yf sl1yo, brk1, yf sl1yo, brk (with both
yo’s) 1, cont in patt to end.
Rep Row 2 for a slowly curving right
edge.
