Crossed Brioche Stitch





One-Color Crossed Brioche StitchCrossed_1color_880x280One-Color Crossed Brioche – same on both sides            – worked on large needles

m1 = make 1 st by bringing working yarn under needle to front then over needle to back.
Cast on a multiple of 3 sts plus 2 selv sts.

Set-Up Row: 1 RS: k1, *sl 1 pwise wyib, m1, k2tog; rep from *, end with k1.
Set-Up Row: 2 WS: k2, *sl the yo pwise wyib, m1, k2tog; rep from *, end with sl the yo pwise wyib, m1, k2.
Row 1: k2, *sl the first yo pwise wyib, m1, brk1 (by knitting the 2nd yo with the foll st); rep from *, end with k1.
Repeat Row 1.

Two-Color Crossed Brioche Stitch
For this sample I follow the instructions for the one-color crossed brioche stitch and changed colors every 2 rows.

Two-Color Crossed Brioche Stitch – same on both sides

Loosely cast on a multiple of 3 sts plus 2 selv sts. My colors: color A = orange, color B = brown.
Set-Up Row 1 RS: k1, *sl 1 pwise wyib, m1, k2tog; rep from *, end with k1.

Set-Up Row 2 WS: k2, *sl the yo pwise wyib, m1, k2tog; rep from *, end with sl the yo pwise wyib, m1, k2.
Row 1: k2, *sl the first yo pwise wyib, m1, brk1 (by knitting the 2nd yo with the foll st); rep from *, end with k1.
Repeat Row 1.

Three-Color Crossed Brioche Stitch
For this sample I again followed the instructions for the one-color crossed brioche stitch (see above) but changed colors every row, alternating between three colors. My colors: color A = orange, color B = brown, color C = steel blue.
